and Fallen Servicemen

Notre Dame’s World War I Memorial, completed in 1924, is located at the east entrance of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Two plaques flanking the east entrance list the names of 56 Notre Dame men who died during that conflict. The story includes the memorial’s history and links to biographies of those 56 men. (link)

Seventy-five Notre Dame students and graduates died during the Vietnam War. Forty-one of those were killed or missing in action and are memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Thirty-four others died of non-combat incidents. Here are their stories. (link)
